1. Mars Hill Acts 17 volunteers SHALL NOT administer any medication to any youth anywhere on the premises, before, during or after a Mars Hill Acts 17 event, unless the parent or legal guardian of the youth. Youth with medication needs may only receive medication on the premises by parent or legal guardian.
2. Youth with any special needs or medical needs must have their own appropriately trained adult chaperone to remain with them throughout the event.
3. Mars Hill Acts 17 volunteers will be on lookout for allergies and asthma and take them seriously. Youth with food allergies are encouraged to bring own food, as needed. However, be on lookout for allergic reactions or asthma attacks. Volunteers at registration tables must note any allergies or special needs (as recorded on youth registration forms) and alert other volunteers as needed.
4. Volunteers in contact with youth undergo a background check. Volunteers are identified with “Mars Hill Acts 17” badges. During opening announcements, youth are instructed to be respectful and to seek an adult with an official badge if any issue. All event activities are conducted in a common area where multiple adult volunteers are present and keeping eyes on facility entry/exit points.
