1) Registration Team: Volunteers are needed to staff registration tables.  This is an important task to be conducted consistently across events for youth safety and accountability.   This includes managing the sign-in and sign-out activities of youth (and adults) and ensuring under-age youth only leave the facility by appropriate means.  (Additional guidance/training will be provided.)

Requirements: Christian adults only.   Early arrival for training and presence throughout the event is required.

 

 

 

2) Crowd Control Team:  Volunteers are needed during the event to encourage youth to remain engaged and to be on alert for any disrespectful or distracting behavior.   Parents and Youth Leaders are encouraged to volunteer in this capacity.   (Additional guidance/training will be provided.)

Requirements:  Christian adults only.   Early arrival for training and presence throughout the event is required.

 

 

3) Food Team: Volunteers are needed to provide and serve dinner, drinks and desserts.  This is vital as it provides free meals, time for fellowship, and allows the event to take place 5-9pm.  (The menu and details will be coordinated by email.)

Requirements:  Adults or mature youth.  The cost of food items or paper products may be reimbursable, but requires advance coordination.

 

 

 

4) Leading game time.  The wackier, the better!  ‘Nuff said.  The Mars Hill Acts 17 Director is happy to work with any adult willing to lead a goofy group activity.

 

 

5) Guest Speakers. Providing a Message.  This may be led by an adult youth leader, special guest speaker, or a mature Christian teen active in a church, approved by the Mars Hill Acts 17 Director  (Remember, the idea is to challenge and cultivate a new generation of Christian leaders.)  This could also be a group activity, group discussion or multimedia presentation.  Any volunteers that feel led to share a message at a future Mars Hill Acts 17 event should work with the Mars Hill Acts 17 Director.   Likewise, any contacts or recommendations for potential Mars Hill speakers should be shared with the Mars Hill Acts 17 Director.

 

 

6) Prayer Time Team: Volunteers are needed to encourage and pray with youth who respond during the event prayer time (typically 8-9pm).  This includes getting their names; praying with them individually; and giving them "goody bags" with a Bible.  Parents and Youth Leaders are encouraged to volunteer in this capacity.   Men shall only follow-up with young men, and women with the young ladies.  (Additional guidance/training will be provided.)

Requirements:  Christian adults only.   Early arrival for training and presence throughout the event is required.

 

 

 

7) Photography & Video Team: Volunteers are needed to capture photos and video during the registration period and throughout the event.

Requirements:  Adults or mature youth with own camera or video gear, preferably equipment that functions in low-light/concert settings.  Must provide photo/video files on site via USB port to a provided computer, or provide electronically within 1-2 weeks after event.

 

 

8) Setup Team: Volunteers are needed to help setup.  This includes unloading and setting up light and sound equipment; moving tables and chairs; and getting the registration area ready.  Setup time varies depending on location but is typically either 10am-2pm on the day of an event, or 6-10pm the night before.

Requirements: Adults and/or mature youth with transportation.

 

 

9) Teardown Team: Volunteers are needed to help teardown light and sound equipment and restore the facility to the way we found it.  Teardown typically takes 2 hours immediately following the event.

Requirements:  Adults and/or mature youth with transportation.

 

 

10) Publicity Team: Volunteers are needed to help with publicity.   This may include helping design new flyers, posting road signs, or posting flyers around town, in stores, windows and bulletin boards.   (Students may also pass out flyers in public school.)  Also includes help with getting word out on social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.
